Position Overview

Premium Locums Group is placing a qualified Advanced Practice Provider — Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) — for a locum tenens assignment in Winchester, Virginia. This is a competitive $125/hour opportunity in one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most strategically located and livable assignment cities.

Compensation: $125 per hour — competitive locum APP rate. Travel and accommodation are included as part of the standard assignment package (to be confirmed).

Role Responsibilities

As the locum APP at this facility, the successful candidate will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality clinical care within their specialty as directed by the facility
• Work assigned shift schedules — duration and times confirmed upon placement
• Collaborate effectively with attending physicians, nursing staff, and the broader clinical team
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in the facility’s EMR system
• Perform procedures within APP scope of practice as credentialed by the facility
• Maintain compliance with all Virginia state, federal, and facility-specific protocols
• Communicate proactively with the Premium Locums placement team throughout the assignment

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA-C licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly)
• National certification in good standing — ANCC or AANP (NPs); NCCPA (PAs)
• DEA license or eligibility for Virginia DEA registration
• Minimum 1–2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant specialty
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) — specific system TBC with facility
• Strong interpersonal and clinical communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in the relevant specialty (to be confirmed)
• Prior locum tenens or travel assignment experience
• Active Virginia license — accelerates credentialing timeline
• Familiarity with community hospital or regional health system environments
