Premium Locums Group is placing a highly qualified Physician (MD or DO) for a premium locum tenens assignment in Southern Texas. At $375/hour, this is one of the highest-compensated physician locum positions currently available on the Premium Locums platform.

Role Responsibilities

As a locum physician at this facility, you will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality clinical care across assigned specialties and patient presentations
• Work 12-hour day or night shifts as coordinated with the facility’s coverage model
• Collaborate effectively with the facility’s existing physician team, specialists, and nursing staff
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic presentations
• Order and interpret diagnostic workups — labs, imaging, and electrocardiography
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the facility’s EMR system
• Maintain compliance with all Texas state, federal, and facility-specific clinical protocols
• Communicate proactively with the Premium Locums placement team throughout the assignment

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO licensure in Texas (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a relevant specialty
• DEA license or eligibility for Texas DEA registration
• Minimum 2 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) — specific system confirmed with facility
• Strong interpersonal and clinical communication skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience in multi-specialty or urgent/emergent clinical environments
• Prior locum tenens or travel assignment experience
• Active Texas medical license already in place — accelerates credentialing timeline
• Spanish language proficiency (patient population is predominantly Spanish-speaking)
