Role Responsibilities

As the locum PA at this Virginia facility, you will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality clinical care within the assigned specialty as directed by the facility
• Work 10-hour structured shifts as coordinated with the facility’s staffing model
• Collaborate effectively with attending physicians, nursing staff, and the broader clinical team
• Perform procedures within PA scope of practice as credentialed by the facility
• Conduct clinical assessments, manage patient care plans, and coordinate follow-up care
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the facility’s EMR system
• Maintain compliance with all Virginia state, federal, and facility-specific protocols
• Communicate proactively with the Premium Locums placement team throughout the assignment

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Active, unrestricted PA-C licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly)
• National certification in good standing — NCCPA
• DEA license or eligibility for Virginia DEA registration
• Minimum 1–2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant specialty
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) — specific system confirmed with facility
• Strong interpersonal and clinical communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in multi-specialty, urgent care, or hospital medicine settings
• Prior locum tenens or travel assignment experience
• Active Virginia PA license already in place — accelerates credentialing timeline
• ACLS/BLS current certifications
