Position Overview

Premium Locums Group is currently placing a qualified Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a locum tenens assignment in Blacksburg, Virginia. This is a multi-specialty coverage role offering competitive $100/hr compensation with 12-hour shift structures.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality clinical care across multiple specialties as assigned by the facility
• Work 12-hour shift schedules — days, nights, or a rotating combination as agreed
• Collaborate effectively with the facility’s existing physician and nursing teams
• Complete thorough, timely documentation in the facility’s EMR system
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, and facility-specific protocols
• Communicate proactively with the Premium Locums placement team throughout the assignment

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Active, unrestricted PA-C or APRN/NP licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
• National certification in good standing (NCCPA for PAs; ANCC or AANP for NPs)
• DEA license or eligibility for DEA registration in Virginia
• Minimum 1–2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant specialty
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — ability to integrate quickly into a new team

 

Preferred

• Multi-specialty or urgent care clinical experience
• Prior locum tenens or travel assignment experience
• Familiarity with rural or community hospital settings
